SELINSGROVE, Pa. - August 11, 2006 - Shane Penny of Nescopeck wired the field for his fourth win of the season in the 25-lap micro sprint car race Friday night at Selinsgrove Raceway Park.
Penny started on the pole and led every lap of the feature. Fourth-place starter David Utt powered into second and maintained the position for the entire event, while sixth-place starter Todd Hoover advanced to third on the fifth circuit and finished the race in that position. Current point leader Sean Stolz finished fourth, while Derrick Bowersox rounded out the top five.
Polesitter Nate Christman of Oley led flag-to-flag in the 25-lap Briggs & Stratton slingshot main event, while Nick Wood scored the victory in the 15-lap junior micro sprint car feature.
Selinsgrove Raceway Park will present a program of go kart and micro sprint car racing at 7 p.m. on Friday, August. 18.
