SELINSGROVE, Pa. - June 28, 2006 - Shane Penny of Nescopeck won his third 25-lap micro sprint car race of the season Friday night at Selinsgrove Raceway Park.
A multi-car crash in turn two at the start of the micro sprint car feature sidelined several competitors, including current points leader Sean Stolz. On the restart, second-place starter Derrick Bowersox powered into the lead and was chased by third-place starter Penny. Bowersox's No. 35 racer bobbled on the 14th circuit, allowing Penny to drive into the lead with fifth-place starter Todd Hoover advancing to second. At the finish, Penny was victorious over Hoover, David Utt, AJ Walters and Nathan Ritter.
Selinsgrove Raceway Park will present a program of go kart and micro sprint car racing at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 4. Also on the racing card will be a $200-to-win 365lb. class go kart event.
