SELINSGROVE, Pa. - September 22, 2006 - Shane Penny of Nescopeck won both of the 25-lap micro sprint car races Friday night at Selinsgrove Raceway Park for his seventh and eighth victories of the 2006 season at the track.
In the regularly scheduled event, Penny started third and chased second-place starter Todd Hoover until the eighth circuit, when Hoover's racer developed mechanical problems. Penny inherited the lead at this point and held off second-place points driver Sean Stolz for the remainder of the race. Ken Duke, Scott Kishbaugh and David Utt completed the top five.
In the Sept. 15 rescheduled race, Penny started on the pole and wired the field for the victory over Hoover, Stolz, utt and AJ Walters.
Selinsgrove Raceway Park will present a program of go kart and micro sprint car racing at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29.
