This week our spotlight shines on the driver of the ABM Motorsports, Mach-I Chassis, Seth's Racing Engines #1w sprint car, Brock Zearfoss.
The 23 year old hot shoe hails from Jonestown, PA whre he works as a pipe fitter. His family includes his mom Pamela, dad Kevin and his girlfriend Lindsay.
His first racing experience came when, as a 9 year old, he attended his first race with his cousin, current sprint car driver Brent Marks. His first race behind the wheel came at Shippensburg Speedway in 1999. In 2004 Brock had 43 wins and 4 track championships in karting. In 2005 he moved into a 600cc micro sprint car which progressed to his 2010 600cc micro season in which he made quite a name for himself racing all over the East Coast and Mid-West. 2011 saw the move to 358 sprint cars and over the last 3 seasons he's raced 358's, 360's, 410's and select 600 events.
Brock's career highlights inlcude: 2 Time State Champion in Go-Karts, 2 Time Hunterstown Speedway Champion, 200+ State and Local Go-Kart Wins, 2010-2011 Linda’s Speedway National Open Champion, 2010-2011 Northeastern Small Car Classic Champion, 2012 Middleford Speedway National Champion, 34 Career 600 Micro Sprint Wins, 3 Career 358 Sprint Car Wins.
2014 will see Brock pilot not only the ABM Motorsports #1w 360 sprint car but also the John Westbrook #1w 358 sprint car and his family owned #3z 410 sprint car. The family mount carries the #3z as a tribute to Dale Earnhardt and the family name.
Being with the crew guys and celebrating wins with them tops the "fun" list when it comes to racing while preparation, preparation and preparation hold the top three spots on the "hardest part of racing" list.
When not behind the wheel of one of his race cars Brock likes to play hockey.
