The newest edition of Driver Spotlight features the driver o the Lazer Chassis, Slankers Garage #40 pro stock, Tommy Slanker.
Tommy is from Strinestown, PA where he lives with his girlfriend Courtney and his 6 year old son, Cole.
When not shifting into high gear on Saturday nights around the big half-mile, Tommy works shifting gears down the highway as a truck driver.
Tommy’s been around racing his entire life and started by watching his uncle, Dale Frye, race at Silver Springs Speedway. His first venture behind the wheel came at age 15 in a thunder car at Susquehanna Speedway.
Tommy lists winning 7 features in 1 year as his greatest racing achievment along with setting a track record at Trailways. No one ever forgets their first checkered flag and Tommy still has fond memories of taking his in his rookie season.
No rabbits feet or putting on his left racing boot first for Tommy. He’s determined to make his own racing luck.
Tommy honors his grandfather, who passed away in 2013, by carrying the same #40 that graced his limited late model.
At the track Tommy loves spending time with his family and friends and hopes, as more funds become available, he can upgrade his car to stay competitive.
When not driving truck or racing Tommy likes to hunt and spend time in the mountains.
Tommy would like to thank Mom, Dad, Courtney, Cole, all the guys that help at the shop and the track each week, Slankers Garage, York Auto Repair, Frye Co, Sipes Driveway Sealing and Keefer Motorsports for helping to keep him on the track each week.
SelinsgroveSpeedway.com would like to wish Tommy Slanker and his entire race team a safe and successful racing season.
